Ukrainian banks have increased the cash rate of the dollar. Yes, on the morning of March 20, they set it at the level of UAH 38.4/38.9. (purchase / sale) – this is 5 kopecks. more expensive to buy than the day before, also by 4 kopecks. – for sale.
Among large banks, the most expensive dollar is bought by Credit Agricole Bank – UAH 38.6 each, as well as Sberbank and Sens Bank – UAH 38.35 each. The cheapest is Universal Bank, UAH 37.6.
Credit Agricole Bank put up for sale the highest rate – UAH 39.3 each, as well as Sberbank – UAH 39.15. The lowest are PrivatBank, UAH 38.6 and Universal Bank, UAH 38.8.
Also, some large banks set a card rate, but now it only works for a transaction for the purchase of foreign currency with subsequent deposit. It’s impossible to buy dollars on a card just like that – the ban has been in effect since the beginning of the war.
But on the black market, the rate fell. Yes:
- for purchase – 5 kopecks, up to UAH 38.7;
- for sale – 4 kopecks. up to UAH 38.82
The official dollar rate, according to the National Bank, remains fixed. It is 36.56 UAH.
The dollar will rock
At the same time, Herman Marchenko, director of the treasury department of Kominbank JSC, noted: in the period from March 20 to 26, slight fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate are expected – 0.2-0.3 hryvnia. However, despite this, in general, the cash rate will not cross the “border” of 38-39 UAH.
As Marchenko explained, in the period from March 20 to March 26, “moods” in the foreign exchange market will be formed by three factors. This:
- replenishment of the budget thanks to export agreements;
- insignificant – at the level of up to 1% per month – current inflation, “keeping a balance between prices and the purchasing power of the hryvnia”;
- psychological resilience of society.
Thus, he noted, during this period, the cash exchange rate of the dollar will remain within 38-39 hryvnia. with minor fluctuations. Which will not affect the established exchange rate trends.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the NBU will keep the dollar exchange rate at UAH 36.56 until the situation on the foreign exchange market improves and inflation stabilizes. Thus, the difference in the fixed exchange rate was tied not to a specific time, but to macroeconomic indicators.
