Will Ukrainians be paid a subsidy in a new way? Zelensky spoke about the reform

The Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of changes in the mechanism for paying subsidies to citizens. First of all, this concerns transfer of subsidies to full monetization. That is, now people you will have to pay bills for consumed services yourself, and the state will compensate part of the funds to the accounts. Previously, in most cases, the subsidy was immediately taken into account in the bills for housing and communal services.

The government is also considering the possibility include subsidies in the overall digitalization of Ukraine. Rostislav Shurma, Deputy Head of the President’s Office, spoke about this in an interview with Liga.Net.

“There is also an option for full monetization of subsidies, when people pay a fair price, but receive compensation from the state. In the end, this is the decision of the state to help citizens who cannot pay a fair price, but this is not automatically a cheap price for everyone,” Shurma said.

He also added that in the current difficult conditions for consumers, officials have not yet decided to make a decision to raise utility rates.

“Indeed, when there is a war and it’s already so hard for people, making a decision to increase tariffs is a difficult decision, primarily in relation to our 40 million citizens. Secondly, we really think about the problem of subsidizing and systemic unprofitability, the lack of incentives for increasing and generating electricity , gas production,” the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine added.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported earlier, on March 20, a power outage schedule was not introduced in Ukraine. Nevertheless, it is possible to introduce a schedule of stabilization shutdowns in certain areas of the Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv. Network restrictions also remain in the Zhytomyr region – there, with an increase in load, disconnections are also possible.
