What will be the prices for electricity and gas in Ukraine after the increase in tariffs: the Rada announced the amount

The Verkhovna Rada continues to discuss the level of increase in tariffs for gas and electricity. After raising the cost of gas, the tariff for heat should increase at least 2.5-3 times.

Oleksiy Kucherenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services, spoke about this on his YouTube channel.

“Whether we want it or not, the unification of our energy, gas transportation system, the unification of markets means one thing: European energy prices are coming to us,” the people’s deputy said. He added that several options for increasing electricity tariffs are being discussed.

According to Kucherenko, an increase to about UAH 2.5 per kW is “an easy option.” And for those who consume up to 100 kW per month – “in general, the market price is about UAH 6-7 per kilowatt hour,” he said. In turn, the price of gas may increase more significantly.

“There is already a market price for gas – UAH 16 per cubic meter, it is being discussed by Naftogaz. I hope that they will not dump these UAH 16 on the population right away, first on the heating and energy companies. And then it will be the problem of the mayors of cities – to get the gas price UAH 16 and transfer the tariff for heat. And if the gas is raised, but the tariffs are not, then the mayors of the cities must find a source to cover it,” the people’s deputy stressed.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the increase in tariffs for cold water in Ukraine will be different in different regions, the relevant national commission (NKREKU) said. The amount depends on the local characteristics of production, however, on average, at the first stage of the increase in April, payments will increase by 10%. In July, a second increase will be carried out, which will also average another 10%.
