Ukrainians began to turn off the heating: where the batteries will be cold already on March 22

Heating will be turned off in Dnipro from March 22 as part of the end of the heating season. The reason for this decision is the warm weather.

This was announced by Deputy Mayor Mikhail Lysenko. He noted that another reason for the early end of the heating season in the city is the significant debts of the residents of the Dnieper to public utilities.

“Due to the increase in the average daily air temperature in the Dnieper to 8 ° C, the heating season will be completed from March 22. I note that this is due to the permissible temperature regime in the city, and the population also has a considerable debt to the city’s heat supply companies,” the report says. .

The fact that the heating season in Ukraine may end ahead of schedule was previously reported in the Verkhovna Rada. Thus, the head of the parliamentary committee on housing and communal services, Andriy Gerus, said that the early completion of the heating season would help Ukraine save energy resources.

“Warm spring weather is gradually coming to Ukraine. Taking into account the weather forecast, from Monday (March 20 – Ed.) in some regions it is possible to end the heating season and save energy resources, including gas,” Gerus said.

However, earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy predicted that the batteries in the homes of Ukrainians would become cold, probably already in early April, and not at the end of March. “There is hope that we will be able to complete the season from the very beginning of April, but if it is cold, heat supply will continue,” said Alexei Chernyshev, head of the company.

He added that Ukraine’s gas reserves will last until the end of the heating season, even if there are still cold weather. However, Chernyshev also recalled the need to save resources.

The current heating season began on October 15, 2022. The previous season ended on March 28, 2022.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, Ukraine is ending the current heating season with a surplus of energy capacity and leftover gas and coal. The Ministry of Energy notes: this indicates that the country has withstood a very difficult winter.
