“Delicious – and that’s the point” showed billions in losses: fake McDonald’s in Russia failed

In Russia, the Smachno – i Tochka restaurant chain ended 2022 with a loss of 11 billion rubles ($140 million). At the same time, McDonald’s showed a profit of 2 billion rubles ($25.8 million) in 2021.

This is stated in the report of the PBU System company. It is she who manages the network, according to BMF. Note that McDonald’s decided to leave the Russian market due to the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

After that, the restaurant chain was bought by another company. They created a similar menu and renamed the network to “Delicious – and that’s it.” Among the reasons for the damage is the fact that the restaurants were closed for several months during the rebranding. In addition, they invested a lot of money in rebranding.

At the same time, the Russians were dissatisfied with the quality of the new menu, as well as the products used in restaurants. Due to logistical problems, potato dishes temporarily disappeared from the menu. In addition, customers came across damaged products.

The network is also often accused of plagiarism. For example, their logo is suspiciously similar to the one used by the pet food company Matosmix. All dishes resemble those offered at McDonald’s, however, they do not have the right to repeat their names and recipes.

Earlier, GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote that a network of McDonald’s restaurants was opened in Odessa. There will be five establishments throughout the city.
