Ukrenergo’s debt to PJSC Ukrhydroenergo for services on the balancing market continues to grow and has already increased to UAH 5.5 billion.
Igor Sirota, General Director of Ukrhydroenergo, spoke about this in an interview with Energobusiness.
“The debt of NPC Ukrenergo on the balancing market and for ancillary services is growing quite rapidly. Today it is UAH 5.5 billion and UAH 1 billion, respectively. These days, there is no shortage in the energy system of Ukraine, but at certain hours we produce energy on the peak of our capabilities,” said Sirota.
According to him, the simultaneous withdrawal of NPP units for repair increases the load on hydro generation and, accordingly, leads to an increase in the size of the PSO (imposition of special obligations – ed.) for the company.
Earlier, Centrenergo CEO Volodymyr Yegorov said that Ukrenergo owes the company UAH 3.2 billion for services on the balancing market and UAH 1.3 billion for ancillary services.
In March, it was reported that Ukrenergo owed almost UAH 16 billion to all electricity producers on the balancing market.
