Part of the migrants (IDPs) in Ukraine got the opportunity to change their registered place of residence under a simplified procedure. We are talking about those IDPs whose permanent registration address is located in the temporarily occupied territory or in the area of active hostilities.
Such migrants can now register at a new place of residence without deregistration at the previous one. Changes provided for by law No. 3054-IX, the document entered into force on June 2, 2023.
The rules will only apply during martial law. In addition, the law establishes the following rules:
- These categories of IDPs can issue or exchange identity documents and confirm their special status at the place of application at the regional division of the migration service. The same applies to pasting new photographs “by age” in the passport;
- the registration of children is also simplified – their place of registration will be the place of residence of the parents or other legal representatives with whom the child lives.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, social payments for internally displaced persons will be maintained in Ukraine in 2023. Most of the migrants have not yet gained financial independence, said Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
