PrivatBank refused to accept dollars at terminals and ATMs: exchangers also stopped accepting part of the currency

In Ukraine, the largest bank “Privat” has stopped accepting dollars and euros in terminals and exchange offices. In addition, currency exchange offices began to carefully study each banknote and massively refuse to accept banknotes that have scuffs, foreign marks, stains, etc.

Ukrainians complain about exchangers in Tik-Tok

Last week, on social networks, Ukrainians talked about how you can return a shabby, old or stained bill in a PrivatBank terminal or ATM. Like, exchangers refuse to accept such dollars, but there are no problems with banking machines.

Dollars refused to accept

However, since May 29, Privat’s terminals and ATMs have stopped accepting foreign currency. Now you can only withdraw dollars or euros at the bank’s cash desk. At the same time, the cashier will also carefully examine each banknote, as in the exchange office. And for those bills that have any damage or stains, they may be offered to send them to Ikaso.

Problems may arise:

  • with a currency that has several damages;
  • which is significantly worn out (old);
  • which is torn;
  • where there are spots of paint.

Depending on the degree of wear or damage to the banknote, the commission can range from 5 to 50%. In banks, the commission may be lower, and with intermediaries, with a high commission, money can be given immediately.

Dollars must be accepted if:

  • there are only minor abrasions;
  • there are small inscriptions (area up to 200 mm);
  • up to three spots up to 5 mm each;
  • tears up to 3 mm;
  • puncture up to 1 mm.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote earlier, in Ukraine, the dollar exchange rate may return to growth if international support slows down, grain agreements fail, or the situation on the fronts worsens.
