Meters will be checked in Ukraine: who will have to pay tens of thousands of hryvnias for a communal apartment

In Ukraine, the check of all counters was returned. Within three months after the end of the heating season, the meter must be checked (the check takes place on average once every four years). If damage is found during the check of the meter, the amounts of payments can be transferred and accrue huge debts.

At the same time, as Oleg Popenko, chairman of the board of the Union of Consumers of Utilities, said, those who do not pass the test will be considered a communal apartment as consumption standards, and not meter certificates. In this case, most often the standards are higher than the actual volume of consumption.

In Ukraine, there are already cases when, during verification, meters were found to be damaged and consumers were forced to pay tens of thousands of hryvnias. For example, the Krynichansky District Court of the Dnipropetrovsk Region ordered a local resident to pay additional charges for gas in the amount of UAH 17,900. When checking the meter, the public utilities found mechanical damage that could affect the readings and, accordingly, the amounts in the payments.

This is stated in the court decision in case No. 178/1960/22. Dnepropetrovskgaz will receive UAH 15,419 from its client, the remaining amount (UAH 2,481) will be court fees,

You can pass the test without taking the meter to a certain organization. This should be done only if damage is found during inspection of the device.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote earlier, the Ministry of Energy explained the increase in the cost of electricity in Ukraine. The department should prepare for new missile attacks on energy infrastructure facilities.
