The Ministry of Energy told when the next time they will increase the tariff for electricity and whether there will be shutdown schedules in the summer

In Ukraine, electricity tariffs will not be reviewed until at least the end of 2023 (and possibly until the end of the heating season 2023/2024). At the same time, despite rumors, schedules for power outages in the summer will not apply.

This was reported by the press service of the department with reference to the statement of Energy Minister German Galushchenko. “We proposed the validity of this decision (on raising tariffs – ed.) until the end of the year …. We have a feeling that this decision will be enough to ensure the passage of organized crime groups and not move prices further,” the minister said.

Galushchenko added that they would not turn off the electricity according to the schedule. Recently, a number of experts have been talking about such a possibility, but the minister called this information “rumors” and said that the lack of current could be compensated by imports. Galushchenko explained the recent power outage as a system failure, the causes of which are being investigated. Moreover, the department is confident that such accidents will not happen again in the near future.

It should be noted that from June 1, a single tariff for electricity was introduced in Ukraine. It is 2.64 UAH per kWh. At the same time, before consumption up to 250 kWh, you could pay only UAH 1.44, and if you use more – UAH 1.68 for each kWh.

The ministry explained the decision to increase the price of current by the need to repair energy infrastructure facilities that were damaged as a result of missile attacks. In addition, in Ukraine there is a shortage of current during the period of peak consumption due to the occupation of the ZNPP. Previously, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant provided Ukraine with 25% of the total current.

In addition, the low current tariff is offset by the highest business prices. But after the start of a full-scale war, the number of commercial consumers decreased significantly.

Recall that earlier GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote that an energy-efficient meter can fully pay off in 10 months. At the same time, to connect it, you will have to wait for your turn.
