Who will pay UAH 500 more every month after the rise in electricity prices: the only way out has been announced

In Ukraine, due to a sharp rise in the price of electricity to UAH 2.64 per kWh (previously, the first 250 kWh was charged at UAH 1.44, and if more was consumed, UAH 1.68) for some families, the amount in payments will increase dramatically. If, on average, a family pays 200-300 UAH more per month, then Ukrainians using electricity for cooking and heating water can pay 500 UAH more per month.

Read the GLOBAL HAPPENINGS article about what needs to be done in order not to overpay.

Who will have to pay 500 UAH per month more

On average, a Ukrainian family uses about 160 kWh of current per month. In May, about UAH 230 had to be paid for such a volume of electricity, since June – UAH 422.4. But as a result of the rise in price, there are also those families whose payment amounts will be much higher.

Yes, in Ukraine it is forbidden to conduct gas in high-rise buildings. As a result, in such houses most often electricity is used both for heating water and for cooking. A family that uses, for example, 520 kWh of current in a month will pay UAH 873.6 for electricity in May, and UAH 1,372 for the same amount of electricity in June. That is, almost 500 UAH. more.

How to pay less for current?

The only way to drastically reduce the amount in bills is to install a two-zone counter. It costs about UAH 2,000, but allows you to pay half of the current tariff for electricity from 23 pm to 7 am. That is 1.32 UAH for each kWh. At the same time, energy-consuming appliances (washing machine, boiler, etc.) in this case should be used at night.

In addition, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency advises to replace appliances with new ones with a high energy efficiency class (or do it gradually and pay attention to the energy efficiency class when buying), replace all lamps in the house with energy-saving ones, turn off all appliances that you do not use with a socket, do not turn on the TV so that it works in the background.

Recall that earlier GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote that an energy-efficient meter can fully pay off in 10 months. At the same time, to connect it, you will have to wait for your turn.
