What will be the dollar in June: the banker announced the numbers

In Ukraine, a period of relative “June calm” began in the foreign exchange market. Global shifts are not expected, and the dollar exchange rate will remain in the corridor from June 5 to June 11 37-38 UAH. Euro will cost 40-41 UAH. However, short-term fluctuations are not ruled out.

Taras Lesovoy, Head of the Treasury Department at Globus Bank, told GLOBAL HAPPENINGS about this in a commentary. “The market is alive, so it is not devoid of situational corrections“, said the banker.

However, according to his forecast, the rate fluctuation will be insignificant and will hardly exceed 30-40 kopecks. The difference between the buying and selling rate (spread) will be within 30 kopecks per dollar and up to 50 kopecks per euro.

Lesnoy is confident that a stable exchange rate situation will have a positive effect on the current level of inflation. Now economic experts predict that in June consumer price growth will be in the range of 0.5-0.7%.

At the same time, the NBU policy, according to the banker, will provide for a gradual merger of the official, banking and exchange rates single rate. However, this will not be a drastic change.

“Such exchange rate “sobornost” is unlikely to happen suddenly – the first step will presumably be further reducing the gap between courses to 1-1.5%and the next is the consolidation of new exchange rate ranges due to the balance between supply and demand for cash, the growth of hryvnia deposits, the continuous filling of the state budget through powerful macro-financial assistance, internal taxes and fees, foreign exchange earnings for exports, etc.,” Lesovoy listed .

He also does not rule out that the NBU in this process may resort to view the official rate. While it is “frozen” at the level of UAH 36.56/USD. “However, now it is impossible to predict the timing of such a scenario, and so far there are no sufficient arguments to confirm this assumption,” the banker said.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, in Ukraine, the largest bank “Privat” stopped accepting dollars and euros in terminals and exchangers. In addition, currency exchange offices began to carefully study each banknote and massively refuse to accept banknotes that have scuffs, foreign marks, stains, etc.
