The idea of establishing a single rate of 10% for the three main taxes – on value added, on income of individuals and on profits – has state support. But so far, during the war, it is unrealistic to carry out such a reform.
Ukraine lives at the expense of Western states and compelled to reckon with their wishes. This was announced at a press conference on June 7 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President noted that he supports the very idea of reform. But in Ukraine now there is a war, Ukraine – subsidized economy that does not generate money. Currently, the state pays pensions and social support through the assistance of other countries, has an agreement with the International Monetary Fund. And donors are against the government cutting taxes in Ukraine.
“They give you money and say that you have to return. Not only that, you still have to show your ability. And when you show your ability during the war, when there are big risks due to business leaving and job losses … if you are you show everything and at the same time you want to reduce taxes, no one will give you such an opportunity, ”he explained.
But Zelensky suggested that the question of tax reform it will be possible to return after the victory over the Russian Federation. Because after the war the state will have to meet the needs of society – otherwise, it simply will not be able to return Ukrainians who left after February 24, 2022 from emigration.
For example, the president noted that it would be possible to return a person who earns $1,000 in Poland, but only $500 or $600 in Ukraine. This can only be done through some kind of financial innovation. “That’s why I like this program,” the President summed up.
Recall, as GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote earlier, meanwhile, in Ukraine until July 1, taxation for individuals – entrepreneurs (FOP) will be changed. For them, the 2% tax rate introduced at the beginning of the war will be canceled. Also, documentary checks and fines for violation will be returned for FLP.
