This was stated by the General Director of “Ukrhydroenergo” Igor Sirota. He told what needs to be done now, what decisions are being prepared, and what kind of work to normalize the situation awaits the Ukrainians after the victory.
According to him, the first task is already to block the destroyed dam and provide water to the population, agriculture and industry.
“The first design decisions on this issue will already be made today,” Igor Sirota noted.
Also, from today until the moment when the Kherson region is completely de-occupied, Ukrhydroenergo specialists will accumulate water in the upper reservoirs in order to fill the Kakhovka reservoir as soon as possible after the liberation of the territories.

“After all, we still do not know the full extent of the destruction,” he said.
The general director of Ukrhydroenergo stressed that the destruction occurred not only at the station itself, but also crossings, water supply and gas supply were damaged.
“This is a complex hydroelectric complex, the construction of which takes time. Now we are developing a project for placing the station,” said Igor Sirota.
In the settlements of Kherson, falling into the flooding zone, they announced the evacuation of the population.
According to Ukrenergo, the Kakhovskaya HPP is completely destroyed and cannot be restored. They warned about the threat of the ZNPP, because the water from the Kakhovka reservoir was used to cool the reactors, and after the terrorist attack, the water level in the reservoir is rapidly decreasing.
The world has condemned the aggressor state for what it has done. Many Western leaders, one after another, have named Russia as responsible for the terrible attack and note that “terrorists will not stop if they are not stopped.”
Russia itself cynically accused Ukraine of the terrorist act committed by the occupiers. Speaker of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Ukraine needed to destroy its hydroelectric power station and arrange a catastrophe proportional to the Chernobyl accident in order to deprive the occupied Crimea of water and because of the allegedly “failed counteroffensive.”
