Brembo: profits jumped to 168 million in 9 months, revenues + 30.9%

Inflation is scary, 5.3 billion in consumption at risk (ANSA)

(ANSA) – MILAN, 09 NOV – Brembo closes the first nine months of the year with a net profit up to 168.7 million euros, up 135% compared to 71.7 million in the same period last year . Revenues rose to 2.04 billion, up 30.9% compared to 1.56 billion in the same period of 2020 and 3.6% compared to 2019.

The gross operating margin (Ebitda) as at 30 September 2021 was 381.7 million, an increase compared to the 267.1 million in the same period of the previous year. In the third quarter, net revenues amounted to € 681 million, up 11.9% compared to the third quarter of 2020 and 5.2% compared to the third quarter of 2019. In the first nine months of the year, all segments in which the group Brembo opera had a very positive trend. Based on the current scenario and the results achieved, the Brembo Group expects revenues to grow between 20% and 25% for the year 2021 compared to the previous year and an EBITDA margin of between 18% and 19%.

The Group’s fundamentals “remain solid, thanks to the contribution of all the business segments in which we operate”, says Alberto Bombassei, president of Brembo. “However, after a robust first half of the year, on the accounts of the quarter – he adds – there is the strong negative impact of the inflation of raw materials and the shortage of semiconductors, external factors destined to weigh on the automotive industry at least for the entire rest of 2021 “.
