There is a first squeeze on the use of scooters and increased fines for wild parking on places reserved for e-car refills or for pregnant women. The Infrastructure decree, which was definitively approved on November 4 by Parliament, arrives in the Gazzetta and from tomorrow some important innovations will be immediately operational, intended to modify the Highway Code and therefore the behavior of Italians struggling with mobility.
Certainly the most important innovations concern the use of scooters, which will no longer be able to transit and be parked on the sidewalks, so much so that the rented vehicles will have to provide for the possibility for users to take a photo to demonstrate parking according to the rules. Speed has also been limited, from 25 to 20 km / h (but remains at 6 km / h in pedestrian areas) and it is mandatory to wear a helmet up to 14 years of age. Seizure is foreseen for those who fix the engine.
But other news also concern those who drive a car. Fines are increased for those who throw objects from moving vehicles soiling the road. The norm on pedestrian crossings also changes: priority must be given to the pedestrian even if he is about to cross and not only if he is already on the crossings. The penalties for the mobile phone are also extended to those who take their hands off the wheel to use laptops or tablets and the responsibility of the motorcycle driver is introduced in the event that the passenger, even if not a minor, does not wear a helmet.
The rules for free parking for disabled people in the blue lines will start later, from next January (if the disabled spaces are occupied) but the fines for those who park in the spaces dedicated to pregnant mothers or with children up to 3 are increased. years, or in places reserved for recharging electric cars. Among the new features, there is also the rule that prohibits sexist or violent advertising on the streets and the green light also for the taxi service carried out by bike or motorbike, basically rickshaws and tuk tuk.
