VIsco explained that “the most important challenges that our economies are currently facing continue to be linked to the pandemic and its direct and indirect consequences”. Hence the initiative to suspend debt payments for 50 countries, the one on IMF special drawing rights for 650 billion dollars, the Act-A program and the creation of an independent high-level panel for the pandemic response, which has proposed to form a Global Committee on Health Threats. “This proposal – explained Visco – has received strong support from all relevant international institutions, in particular the WHO, even if not all the members of the G20 have yet joined. It was therefore decided to create a task force to develop possible solutions. of coordination, which we hope will lead to a shared solution next year “.
