One billion from Intesa Sanpaolo for sustainable tourism

Confesercenti:

(ANSA) – MILAN, NOVEMBER 17 – Intesa Sanpaolo is making one billion euros available for the relaunch of companies in the tourism sector hit by the pandemic and encouraging investments along the path of sustainable tourism, in line with the path of the NRP.

The banking group led by Carlo Messina will support companies in the sector to seize the challenges and opportunities of change. The initiative, which also makes use of the synergy with Sace, is part of Motori Italia, the program with a ceiling of 50 billion. Tourism was inevitably one of the sectors most “exposed to the pandemic. Right from the start we offered our support by making € 2 billion available to meet the immediate liquidity needs of businesses”, says Stefano Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territories.

This agreement with “Intesa Sanpaolo adds a further step to Sace’s commitment to support the implementation of the Green New Deal”, says Pierfrancesco Latini, CEO of Sace.

The new intervention announced by Intesa Sanpaolo will make it possible to accompany small and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector in the transition. “We appreciate Intesa Sanpaolo’s willingness to support the restructuring of Italian hotels”, highlights the president of Federalberghi, Bernabò Bocca.

The package of interventions identified is “very well calibrated for the sector”, declares Maria Carmela Colaiacovo, president of the Italian Association of Confindustria Alberghi. From Intesa Sanpaolo comes “support for the spa sector”, says Massimo Caputi, president of Federterme Confindustria.
