In October, the import of cheese to Ukraine broke all records. However, in Europe it has risen in price significantly, so it is expected that importers can reduce purchases.

This is reported by infagro.com.ua.

In October, 4.2 thousand tons of rennet cheeses were delivered to Ukraine. According to experts, this is half of the average monthly sales. However, it is possible that these deliveries were carried out under old contracts and were not affected by the rise in price.

The cost of the block Gouda and Ementhal has grown significantly, so the price difference with the Ukrainian manufacturer is almost the same. Although these types of cheese were exported from abroad, it was precisely because of the lower prices.

Ukraine imports cheese from:

  • Poland (41%);
  • Germany (14%);
  • The Netherlands (11%).

At the same time, domestic producers are also increasing prices for their products in the domestic and foreign markets. However, they also lose sales.

Ukrainian cheese is sold to:

  • Kazakhstan (70%);
  • Moldova (25%).

Experts believe that despite the high prices for export and import of cheese, in December one can count on traditionally good sales on the eve of the holidays.

What else has risen in price for Ukrainians?

Record prices for sunflower oil have been set in Ukraine. It got to the point that the authorities are proposing to establish state regulation of prices. If in the middle of 2020 it cost 34 UAH / l, now it is being sold at 63 UAH / l.

At the largest in Ukraine farmer’s wholesale market “Nezhdana”, in the village of Bolshiye Kopani, Kherson region, tomatoes are sold at summer prices. However, prices for eggplants, onions, corn and other vegetables have increased.

Sausages also rose in price. We are talking about sausages and wieners. In November, the price for them increased by 3.84%.

Earlier, we reported that prices for groceries have changed in Ukraine – from October 2020 to October 2021, only millet has fallen in price. Compared to last year, it costs UAH 17.48 per kg – 2.3% cheaper.
