Stock Exchange: Milan slips (-1%), bad banks

Stefano Patuanelli:

(ANSA) – MILAN, NOVEMBER 19 – The falls on the equity markets of the Old Continent widen after the clear worsening of the Covid situation in various countries and urgent measures such as the almost immediate lockdown in Austria.

The stock exchanges that lose the most are Madrid (-1.5%) and Milan, which drops 1% with the Ftse Mib index, followed by Vienna down by one percentage point. The other European lists are more cautious, falling below half a point, in a very nervous situation with strong fluctuations.

The tension on government bonds is easing due to the reassurances of Lagarde, but in the countries with the most risk of debt, rates are falling less than in other cases, with the spread between BTPs and Bunds above 120 basis points. In Piazza Affari the banks suffer, with Intesa and Unicredit losing more than 3%.
