(ANSA) – VENICE, NOVEMBER 20 – From the thirteenth, the treasury ‘snatches’ 11.8 billion euros. The operation will start next Thursday for retirees, while payment for all retired people is expected on 1 December. Finally, employees and private workers will receive the amount by Christmas. But to celebrate, for the CGIA, will be, in particular, the treasury. The Region with the highest number of beneficiaries is Lombardy: between employees and retirees, the people concerned will be just over 6 million. Followed by Lazio (3.25 million) and Veneto (2.95 million). The thirteenth this year will involve 33.8 million Italians: 16 million retirees and 17.8 million employees for a gross amount equal to 45.7 billion euros. If 11.8 billion in personal income tax withholdings are raised from this amount, 33.9 billion net will remain in your pocket. A large part of this monthly payment will be spent to pay the mortgage installment, bills, the balance of the IMU / Tasi of the second home and the Tari, but it is desirable that the remaining part be used to revive Christmas consumption. Much will depend on the progress of the epidemic and any closures that the government could introduce in the coming weeks. The CGIA estimates that spending on Christmas gifts this year should return to the same threshold as in 2019, when it touched 9 billion, a far cry from the 20 billion recorded before the 2008-2009 crisis. The contraction in recent years is also partly attributable to the fact that many anticipate the purchase of gifts in November, taking advantage of the “black friday” which penalized above all neighborhood shops, while outlets and large-scale distribution managed to amortize the shot. In view of the decision that Parliament will have to take regarding which tax to allocate the 8 billion euro cut, for the CGIA the reduction must concern the personal income tax and not the IRAP.
