During the year, from October 2020 to October 2021, 30 distilleries were privatized in Ukraine during auctions. The total amount of proceeds amounted to UAH 1.7 billion.
This was reported by the press service of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
The report notes that of this money, the budget of Ukraine has already received 1.05 billion, it was paid by investors.
“Today we can say with confidence that the demonopolization of the alcohol industry in Ukraine has taken place!”, The press service said.
Also, the SPFU stressed that before the start of privatization, Ukraine and Belarus were the only countries with state monopolies on the production of alcohol.
A new impetus to the development of the industry was given by the reform, which started on July 1, 2020.
Scandalous privatization of “Bolshevik”
The old building of the former Bolshevik plant in the very heart of Kiev was also put up for privatization at the end of October and sold for UAH 1.42 billion.
However, this privatization took place not very transparently, according to experts and investors.
The thing is that only 3 investors came to compete for such a tidbit of land, two of whom were related. The price for which the Bolshevik was sold is also embarrassing, because it differs from the starting price by only 2%.
“Today” they figured out why the sale of “Bolshevik” is called a corruption scheme, and also told how the so-called Big Privatization started in Ukraine.
