Look in your wallet: for which Ukrainian banknote you can buy a foreign car

At online auctions, bonists are offered rare bills, some of them are in circulation, but due to their peculiarities, they are much more expensive than their face value. For them, sellers ask for several tens of thousands of hryvnia.

“Today” found interesting samples at one of the auctions.

Here is a set of 2011 banknotes sold for 30 thousand hryvnia. It contains 9 banknotes, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 hryvnias. Their total denomination is 888 hryvnia, but they are all samples and cannot be in circulation. In the description of the product it is indicated that all banknotes are in good condition.

Valuable among experts bills with rare numbers. Their real value is several times higher than the face value. For example, 100 hryvnias with the number “ЗЗ7777777” are sold for 80 thousand hryvnias, and 500 hryvnias with six zeros for 60 thousand hryvnias.

There are other rare numbered banknotes available at online auctions. They cost a little less, but prices reach several tens of thousands of hryvnias.

What else are they selling?

Rare coins are also sold at auctions. Their cost depends on the year of issue, denomination and condition. Especially valuable are rare samples or those on which there is a marriage. For example, an inverted image.

For example, you can get good money for a coin with a face value of 1 hryvnia in 1992. It turned out that such coins began to be produced only in 1995, and in 1992 there was only an experimental batch. And 900 thousand hryvnia can be obtained for a rare coin with a factory marriage, allegedly having a mystical power. And the same one, of the same year of issue and face value, is sold at an auction for 100 thousand hryvnia.
