Payments for teachers will grow by 8%, and student scholarships – by 50%

Ukraine in 2022 will prioritize spending on education, health, defense and security. In particular, they plan to raise salaries for teachers and scholarships for students.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this is stated in a new memorandum with the International Monetary Fund.
How much do teachers earn?
The document states that spending on education will be increased to 7.3% of GDP. Thus, teachers’ salaries will increase by 8%, and scholarships – by 50%.
At the same time, an increase in teachers’ salaries is envisaged this year, 108 billion hryvnias have been allocated for this from the budget. And next year, the Ministry of Education and Science promises an increase of another 10% to the salary.

Salaries are indicated for teachers working 18 hours / week, taking into account premiums for the prestige of work (5-30%) and for seniority. It is 10% for young professionals and 20% for other categories.
Note that in September the average salary of teachers was 12,334 hryvnia, and in April they received 10,859 hryvnia.
What is the market situation?
According to the State Statistics Service, on average, Ukrainians earn 14.2 thousand hryvnia. However, already in 2022, this amount may increase by 20%.
The largest increase will be received by IT workers. Also sales representatives and workers. This is due to the economic recovery after the pandemic and the return of workers to European countries.
The most offers on job search sites are:
- in the retail sector – there are 32 thousand ads;
- in transport and logistics – 24 thousand;
- in construction – 18 thousand.
More Ukrainians earn in Kiev – more than 20 thousand hryvnia, and the smallest salaries in the Chernivtsi region – 10 900 hryvnia.

In addition, career growth, higher salaries and a desire to improve housing conditions motivate Ukrainians to think about moving. The average salary for which people are ready to change their place of residence within the country is about UAH 30,000.
