(ANSA) – MILAN, NOV 27 – Eicma is the first trade fair event in the world in its sector to be certified by ISO 20121, the international standard for sustainable event management. Yesterday evening, the president of Eicma, Pietro Meda, and the CEO Paolo Magri received the certificate from the hands of the CEO of Tuv Nord Italia, Stefano Porelli, at the end of a complex path, to make the 2021 edition sustainable. from an economic, environmental and social point of view.
The path towards obtaining the certification analyzed the impact characteristics in the planning and organization of the event, also in order to involve and influence all the stakeholders (visitors, suppliers, exhibitors, operators and media), promoting good practices and behaviors before , during and after Eicma 2021.
The president of Eicma, Pietro Meda, on the sidelines of the moment of delivery of the certificate, underlined “that obtaining this result represents an important recognition for the attention with which we have organized our event.
By proudly assuming the responsibility of implementing and disseminating the principles of this standard, we make Eicma an international reference in the field of trade fairs also for sustainability “.
CEO Paolo Magri was also very satisfied, remarking that “Eicma’s commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with that of the two-wheeler industry that we represent and welcome in this unique container in the world”.
Visitors to the 2021 Edition, scheduled until Sunday 28 November at Fiera Milano Rho, will thus encounter coordinated communication installations in their visiting experience to increase their awareness and learn about the prerogatives of certification. They range from containers for separate waste collection to the ban on throwing cigarette butts on the ground, up to suggestions for reaching the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in a green way.
