Crowd in the parish church of Tombolo for the farewell to Ennio Doris, founder of Banca Mediolanum, who died in the night between last Tuesday and Wednesday. A Milanese banker by adoption, but firmly anchored to his Venetian origins. About 5,000 people were expected to attend the funeral, including the elite of finance, from Silvio Berlusconi, with his children Marina and Piersilvio, to Alberto Nagel, Marco Tronchetti Provera, Alessandro Benetton. A long applause from the crowd greeted the arrival of the coffin in the church of Sant’Andrea Apostolo.
“Without faith it is difficult, very difficult to overcome anything, especially illnesses. I want to do this publicly, so as to make people think even at the level of faith”. It is the last message left by Ennio Doris, a week before his death. He was quoted by Don Bruno Caverzan, parish priest of Sant’Andrea a Tombolo (Padua), during the homily at the banker’s funeral.
