The Kremlin is worried about the certification of “Nord Stream 2” – and here is Ukraine

The Kremlin would prefer that Ukraine’s participation in the certification process of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline does not lead to threats to its completion and the launch of the pipeline.

This was stated by the press secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“Of course, we would prefer that there were no threats to the completion of the Nord Stream 2 certification project, that there were no threats, because the certification and launch of this project is in the interests of all European consumers,” the Kremlin spokesman said..

Thus, Peskov answered a question from the press about whether the Russian Federation sees a threat to the launch of the gas pipeline due to Ukraine’s participation in the certification process.

Nord Stream 2 certification

The United States imposed sanctions on two ships and one company that were involved in the project. At the same time, the German regulator suspended the certification of the gas pipeline.

The FRN explained this by the fact that the stream operator must have an organizational form corresponding to local laws, however, they noted that that the process will be resumed soon.

According to the analyst, the US sanctions are very weak and are simply thrown “in pursuit” to show the semblance of a fight with the Russian Federation.
