In 2022 pensions up to four times the minimum (up to 2,062 euros) will have an equalization with respect to inflation of 100% (+ 1.7%) while the higher ones will have a recovery with respect to the increase in prices of 90% and then 75%. This was explained by the president of INPS, Pasquale Tridico. “From 1 January 2022 – he said – there will be considerable increases”.
The main problem for the pension system in Italy is that there are too few people working, only 23 million compared to 34 in France with a similar number of inhabitants, added Tridico.
“We know that we have 3.5 million illegal workers. We reach 26.5 million people working. In any case, 6-7 million are missing. This is the most important and most fragile data for the Italian economic system and therefore also for the pension system “.
