Switzerland’s largest airline Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) plans to launch regular flights from Zurich to Odessa from July 4, 2022.

This is reported by avianews.com.

The new flight will appear as part of the expansion of the network of flights in the summer schedule next year. The airline decided to focus on flights to destinations and routes to visit loved ones.

Despite the fact that the new flight will only appear in July, Swiss has already opened air ticket sales and published a flight schedule.

Flights are scheduled twice a week:

  • Zurich 10:00 → Odessa 13:45, Monday, Thursday.
  • Odessa 14:25 → Zurich 16:15, Monday, Thursday.

At the cheapest Light fare, tickets cost UAH 6,700 in both directions (220 euros). Passengers can take with them only hand luggage – a suitcase with dimensions up to 55x40x23 cm and weighing up to 8 kg and a personal item with dimensions up to 40x30x10 cm with no weight limit.

The airline has already announced for flights the Airbus A220-300 jet, which is equipped with 145 seats. He will be able to cover the distance between Odessa and Zurich in about 3 hours.

What is known about Swiss?

Swiss International Air Lines offers guaranteed connections at its base airport to other cities in Europe and America. It works as a network carrier.

However, Swiss has not yet opened ticket sales for most of its summer flights. So, for now, Ukrainians will not be able to plan their transplants.

The situation will change after January 12, 2022 – on this day, the carrier will upload information on flights to the booking system from June 1, 2022.

Note that the airline currently operates only one flight to Ukraine on the Kiev-Zurich route.

We previously reported that Qatar Airways operated its first regular flight to Odessa from Doha on December 9. Passengers travel on medium-haul Airbus A320 aircraft.

Recall that the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair in 2022 will launch two more new routes from Boryspil International Airport to Stockholm and to the island of Kerkyra, which is known as Corfu.
