(ANSA) – DUBAI, DECEMBER 17 – The new cruise terminal in Dubai, the Dubai Harbor Cruise Terminal, was officially inaugurated today, Friday 17, located in the heart of the city and will host the ships of the Costa Cruises group and, specifically, Costa Florence and Aida Bella, controlled by Aida, the German brand of the group. The project is part of a strategic partnership between Carnival Corporation & plc and Shamal Holdig, which aims to promote Dubai in the main maritime tourism hub in the Arabian Gulf area.

” The inauguration of the new terminal and our commitment to promote the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai (of which Costa Crociere is the gold sponsor, ed) – explains Maurizio Zanetti, general manager of Costa Cruises – are two further testimonies of how Costa and the Carnival Corporation group to which it belongs, are continuing to invest in the restart of tourism, restarting the ecosystem of cruises from which Italy and Europe derive great economic and employment benefits ”. The new cruise port has two terminals, capable of accommodating two large ships at the same time. The project was approved in 2018 and the works were completed in October last year. But due to the pandemic, everything has remained still until today.

A modern and efficient port, ready to accommodate 3,250 passengers per hour. The goal is to bring over 500,000 passengers a year and increase cruise tourism. The structure covers over 120 thousand square meters and offers a wide range of services: from waiting rooms, to a duty free, to parking lots and taxis. (HANDLE).
