Stock market: Milan did well (+ 0.5%) with industry, on Cnh and Leonardo

(ANSA) – MILAN, DEC 22 – Piazza Affari gains (+ 0.5%) in the mid-week session, after a muted start, as for the other main European stock exchanges, with the volume of trading subdued, in view of the holidays, and growing fears for the evolution of the pandemic from Covid 19, in particular for the Omicron variant.

Industry did well in Milan above all. At the top of the main list are Cnh (+ 2.7%), Leonardo (+ 2.4%), with the CEO, Alessandro Profumo, who promised quick times on the sale of Oto Melara and Wass, Amplifon (+ 2.2% ) Interpump and Campari (+ 1.9% both). Well Tim (+ 1.8%), on a day in which the prime minister, Mario Draghi, reiterated the government’s priorities on the telecommunications group. Poste (+ 0.9%) and Enel (+ 0.6%) finished up. Cars did well, from Stellantis (+ 0.8%) to Ferrari (+ 0.4%).

With the BTP-Bund spread rose to 134.3 points, some banks in the red, from Bper (-0.5%) to Fineco (-0.1%), Intesa (-0.09%) and Unicredit ( -0.07%), some gains for Banco Bpm (+ 0.1%) and against the trend Mps (+ 1.2%), which accelerated after Draghi reassured the game that Siena must play with the EU. Among the weak oil Eni (-0.05%) and the Tenaris plant (-0.02%), not Saipem (+ 0.5%), with crude oil which increased earnings in the late afternoon (wti +1 , 4%) at 72.1 dollars a barrel and brent at 74.7 dollars. The utilities were not very bright, in particular Terna (-0.06%) and Snam, flat.
