(ANSA) – MILAN, DEC 23 – More than half of European consumers (52%) would not purchase goods or services from companies that are considered unethical, as they are responsible for environmental damage, and in Italy the figure rises to 64%. In Italy, the awareness of Italian consumers on the active role in changes relating to consumption in a more ethical form is also growing: 56% in fact use their influence as a consumer to guide the change (European average equal to 46%). It emerges from Intrum’s European Consumer Payment Report (Ecpr), which is based on over 24,000 interviews (over 1,000 in Italy) carried out with the heads of household financial decisions in 24 European countries.
Furthermore, in Italy 40% of consumers would not feel guilty in paying late for a professional service or a product of a company, if it is considered that the company is adopting improper conduct from the point of view of sustainability. This is more than 30% of the European average. (HANDLE).
