For the damage caused to the nature reserve fund, Ukrainians will pay more. The Cabinet of Ministers has increased the amount of fines by 10 times.

This was reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to them, the previous version of the decree needed changes, because the mechanism for calculating the amount of damage did not correspond to the amount of damage actually inflicted and did not provide an opportunity for its elimination.

The essence of the ban

As explained in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the decree establishes a new procedure for calculating the amount of damage caused to the nature reserve fund. Namely, the previously valid taxes are being revised since 2013.

You can pick mushrooms and berries:

  • within national parks;
  • in biosphere reserves.

You can, of course, do this for your own needs. Indeed, when fishing, you must first obtain the appropriate permit.

It is forbidden to pick mushrooms:

  • in strictly protected areas. They are determined by the Projects for the organization of territories of the relevant institutions of the nature reserve fund. Such zones are created specifically for the preservation of the Red Data Book animals and plants.

As before, the stay of strangers in such areas is prohibited. There are corresponding notice signs, and the security service notifies visitors about the existing restrictions.

So it is impossible to accidentally make a mistake and collect what is forbidden out of ignorance in such zones.

Purposeful unlawful activity in such a territory so far can really cost offenders 10 times more expensive.

Who will be affected by the ban

The Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources claims that the decree applies exclusively to territories and objects of the nature reserve fund: national natural parks, nature reserves, botanical gardens, dendrological parks.

That is, those territories that are intended to preserve biodiversity and are protected as a national treasure. Such facilities occupy only 6% of the country’s territory.

The document does not apply to forests, water and other objects and natural resources not included in the NRF territory… In these options, other separate regulations apply.

What sanctions are provided

  1. For the destruction of a bush of peonies – 1691 UAH;
  2. For a felled tree – UAH 85 796;
  3. For illegal catch of one catfish – UAH 20,915;
  4. For illegal catching of one pike – 16 736 UAH;
  5. For illegal catching of sika deer – UAH 305 thousand 896;

Fines for plastic bags

Since December 10, the free distribution of plastic bags has been banned at the legislative level.

The ban applies to shops, supermarkets, catering establishments and the provision of services. On the biodegradable, as well as super thin plastic bags, which are primary packaging for fresh fish, meat and products from them, bulk products and ice, the requirements are not yet applied. This exception is valid until 2023 year.

Administrative and economic sanctions will be applied to violators of the aforementioned law, namely fines from 1700 to 3400 hryvnia… For a repeated violation, the amount will be from 3400 to 8500 hryvnia. The fine is paid by the company within 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of the decree.

We used to calculate how much Ukrainians would spend on “bags” every year. We are talking about billions of dollars.

We also talked about the reasons why Ukrainians can receive a fine of up to 60 thousand hryvnia.
