(ANSA) – MILAN, 12 JAN – There are 13 projects presented by the capital municipalities of metropolitan cities as part of the “Mobility as a Service for Italy” (MaaS) call. 14 cities had been invited to participate, 13 submitted expressions of interest in November and now, in the second phase, they have responded to the public notice by applying to test their platforms as pilot projects with the funding made available by Measure 1.4.6 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The preliminary phase of the admissibility / admissibility requirements is now underway, followed by the evaluation phase by a specific Commission that will evaluate the projects to select the three winners in the coming weeks.

“It is a new way of understanding mobility, it is a revolution – explains Arianna Censi, Milan Mobility Councilor enthusiastically – and it is right that it starts from large urban areas. The basic idea is to relate to the organization of one’s own mobility in a more dynamic and non-repetitive way and, when fully operational, it could produce scale savings “. The MaaS provides for the integration of multiple services (such as public transport, car-sharing, taxi, car rental, etc.), accessible to the user through a single digital channel with different options among those existing, from travel planning to payment.
