(ANSA) – LONDON, 14 JAN – Google has announced the purchase in London for a billion dollars (872 million euros) of a well-known office complex, stressing that it intends to invest in a return to the workplace after the pandemic, although it remains the indication of a ‘hybrid’ approach with an important smart working component for its employees. This is the Central Saint Giles, Renzo Piano’s first project in the United Kingdom, which was completed in 2010 at a cost of 450 million pounds (540 million euros). The US technology giant is currently renting spaces in the colorful complex consisting of two buildings up to 15 floors high located in the center of the British capital, near Oxford Street. Central Saint Giles includes 38,000 square meters of offices, as well as more than 100 apartments, and houses restaurants and cafes on the ground floor. With the purchase, Google will have room for 10,000 employees, a significant increase from the 6,400 it currently has in the UK, 700 of whom have joined the company in the past year. (HANDLE).
