(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 28 – The Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti has defined a package of measures to support and strengthen investments in startups and innovative SMEs with over 2.5 billion euros, in order to encourage the growth of a innovation ecosystem and accompanying the ecological and digital transition processes.

The Mise – reads a note – has assigned the resources to Cdp Venture Capital Sgr, 70% controlled by the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp) Group, which has the task of attracting new national and international investors and growing the venture capital market in Italy.

Cdp Venture Capital will therefore have at its disposal the 2 billion euros allocated by the Ministry in implementation of the infrastructure decree, to which will be added 550 million of resources provided for by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

Another 600 million will be allocated by CDP and third party investors, the note specifies.
