It will be especially difficult to return to life, even remotely resembling the former one, for those who have lost loved ones and a roof over their heads. Unfortunately, no one will ever be able to return or replace people, but it is possible to provide Ukrainians with a decent place to live, which is what the Ukrainian team of architects offers.
The Kyiv architectural studio Balbek Bureau has developed a project for a modular village that could temporarily become a home for Ukrainians who fled shelling and war. The developers of the plan said that their goal is to provide families with a decent place to live, so that they feel like people in the first place, and not refugees.
Balbek Bureau called its modular village Re: Ukraine. And before presenting it to the public, the team analyzed the settlements for refugees operating in different parts of the world.
