The project was founded by Khrystyna Buniy. The girl calls herself a DIY ethnographer and studies the culture of the Carpathians.

Khrystyna is a graphic designer, originally from the city of Nadvirna (Ivano-Frankivsk region). At some point, she began to volunteer, working on the Didova Hatchina project, an initiative in the village of Kosovshchina that gathers people interested in developing and spreading local culture.

Buniy lived in the village for a whole year, was engaged in design, walked through the mountains and villages, communicated with the locals, and collected photographs. As a result, there were so many pictures that she decided to publish them on Instagram. Later, a system and algorithm for publications, topics appeared. Today, her account is more like an archive that is popular with interested people – 16.8 thousand people subscribe to it.
