Die can wait: Rami Malek was so impressed with Daniel Craig that he lost his Latin

Die Can Wait is Daniel Craig’s latest take on James Bond. For almost 15 years, the man played the famous secret agent, considered the best by fans despite a cold reception in his debut. In this episode directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective), 007 lives a peaceful retirement. But you can imagine, James Bond returns to service to save a scientist and confronts Safin, a former assassin with deadly technology. A villain played by Rami Malek, revealed to the general public by the Mr. Robot series. And joining a franchise as major as this one can bring its share of stress, even for a confirmed actor!

On the set, the interpreter of Safin even lost his Latin!

Rami Malek raved about Daniel Craig

Very little is known about the villain played by Rami Malek in Dying Can Wait. It must be said that the production keeps its identity and its plans secret. For the actor, it is also a huge source of stress since he is the last opponent of Daniel Craig.

In an interview for the Graham Norton Show, the actor revealed by Mr. Robot confided in the filming of the film. The man explains that he felt the pressure to face James Bond when he wanted to be up to it.

Rami Malek says he even forgot some lines when he was in front of Daniel Craig. But the interpreter of James Bond returns the compliment, qualifying as “brilliant” his interpretation as Safin!

When you see Daniel Craig on the set, the set of 007, and he’s completely James Bond… I have to say that the second I got there, there are times when I forgot my lines and I I just said to myself: “It’s because I’m looking directly at the secret agent.” It was intense.

– Rami Malek

This statement by Rami Malek is not surprising. In full promotion of Bohemian Rhapsody, the actor was already singing the praises of Daniel Craig. It is clear that the man already admired his colleague before the filming of Dying Can Wait.

Dying Can Wait is released on October 6, 2021 in theaters.
