Today, Louis Vuitton unveiled the Spring 2023 Cruise Collection. The creative director of the brand, Nicolas Ghesquière, told American Vogue that he was inspired by the images of goddesses, superheroes and female warriors.
In the new collection, Ghesquière decided to break the dress code and create complex silhouettes. The show itself took place at the Salk Institute, designed by Louis Kahn in La Jolla, California.
The designer opted for metallic fabrics and embellishments that reflected the setting sun, some of which were glass like mirrors, others providing protection from it, such as long linens wrapped around the models’ heads.

Other looks use design elements specific to water sports; airbrushed short skirts reminiscent of jet skis.

In the collection you can see dresses, one more voluminous than the other, which are cut from durable jacquard fabrics. Sneakers with soft soles completed the look.

Toward the end of the show, viewers watched jackets with huge sculpted collars and shoulders, reminiscent of the armor of the Amazon superhero goddesses.
