Phenomenon Fedyshyn: how, trying to extinguish the hate from Eurovision, inflate a scandal with LGBT

The singer Irina Fedyshyn has not only the talent of an artist, but also the ability to stir up scandals around her. We analyze this “phenomenon” and what stands behind it – in the author’s column.

Irina Fedyshyn, who a couple of days ago came under a wave of hate because of the “wrong” vote for Poland at Eurovision, tried to justify herself in an interview with YouTube blogger Alina Dorotyuk, but buried herself even more.

The truth about Poland’s Eurovision score

Irina did not get out anymore and admitted that she did not give the Polish participant 10 points (as she originally wrote on her Instagram), but put it in 10th place (out of 25 participants), she simply “was on emotions” and formulated it incorrectly. And, according to her, “it’s not zero points.”

Indeed, according to the Eurovision rules, the 10th place gets not 0, but 1 point. Not a lot either, mind you. But taking into account the assessments of our other judges, Poland was in the “Ukrainian rating” in 11th place, and this is already a net zero. And with him – a loud scandal.

Fedyshyn now justifies herself like this: they say, she voted not for political reasons, but “for music, for art” …

But that’s not all – Irina talked so much that she herself threw new poop on the fan. At the same time, not realizing that the fan is blowing in her direction. Or pretending not to understand…

“I don’t condemn LGBT people, but it’s a big sin”

When Irina was asked about how she judged the representatives of the LGBT community at the competition, given that previously she, to put it mildly, did not support sexual minorities, Fedyshyn suffered, even though she tried to control herself:

I abstracted from this. Despite the fact that I don’t understand the LGBT community, for me it’s a big sin …

At this moment, Irina, apparently, guessed that she had blurted out too much and that she did not live in Russia, trying to spread straws for herself, but slipped firewood into the fire:

But I do not blame these people, because this is their life. And they are destroying it. We will all answer to God… I am a spiritual person, and I clearly know that this is a grave sin. But everyone draws conclusions, we are all different. We are not saints, everyone sins. Please, you like to destroy yourself – destroy…

In the battle for European values, we forget the main one

As you understand, that very fan is now actively turned on – and hits Irina Fedyshyn with “unrighteous” anger in all social networks.

Especially “fragrant” stream of hate rushes from colleagues (and part-time competitors) who cannot forgive Fedyshyn for her wild popularity (in the last 5 years she has become one of the most sought-after artists in the country).

Even those who once performed at Eurovision for Russia, while having a Ukrainian passport, are furiously thrown at the fan. Well, you get the idea…

In general, it all looks disgusting and vulgar. Especially during the war. As if you are standing at the cesspool, blown by the stinking “wind” of that same fan.

These haters will now say: “We are fighting for European values!” I will answer: let’s remember the main European value: the opportunity to express one’s opinion and position.

Here is Fedyshyn’s position. And we have another one. We are different. And not only in sexual preferences … This is what distinguishes us from our main enemy.

PS

In fact, no matter what Fedyshyn said about LGBT people, she would still get it – from “sinners” or from “righteous people”. But she focuses on the latter, who form the backbone of her audience.

But still, as an experienced and immodest media worker who has been cooking in the Ukrainian show business for ten years, I dare to suggest that the “Fedyshyn phenomenon” is outrageously banal: the lack of a PR flair and the ability to correctly place accents for the media. Because of what we are fed that which leads to stupid scandals.

Therefore, I propose to call this phenomenon simply: fedishing (from English fedishing – feeding).

Until the next “srach”!
