Russian singer Zemfira has been condemning the attack of Russian soldiers on Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale war. She, along with actress Renata Litvinova, left the Russian Federation in early March.

Subsequently, the singer released the song “Do not shoot” with footage of the war in Ukraine, protests in Russia and the detention of protesters.

The other day Zemfira presented a new anti-war song “Meat”, dedicated to the hero city of Mariupol. Also, a video for a track appeared on the YouTube channel, consisting of military-themed drawings created by Renata Litvinova. On the footage you can see the corpses of people, blood, soldiers and graves.

Spring is on the calendar, but in reality, trenches and high-precision long-range missiles. It’s midnight in Mariupol, I have nightmares every night, – Zemfira sings in one of the verses.

Also in the song, Zemfira asked two questions: “Where did we come?” and “why did we come?” . This is probably addressed to the rashist invasion that invaded Ukraine.

This track brought Zemfira’s fans to tears. They note that this is a cry of pain:

  • There are no words. I don’t know if it is possible to describe more exactly what is happening in Ukraine. Frost on the body.

  • From the first notes, from the first drawings to the bones! Turned inside out, exposed every nerve, tears, to the core. Our reality today. Thank you for not being silent.

  • It’s hard from this music, because it describes reality. A song of horror, pain and hopelessness that emanates from war.

  • This is not even a song, but our common cry of pain.

  • Impossible, unbearable, wrong, horrible. This should never have happened. And the song reveals all the feelings.
