New Bachelor Jed McIntosh Strikes Back After Old Facebook Posts Appear

Late college student Jed Macintosh was embroiled in a scandal even before his season ended before filming ended.

After Channel 10 announced that the 25-year-old was one of three newcomers to headline Season 10 of the dating series, several controversial Facebook posts resurfaced during Jedi’s teenage years.

The posts were made in 2011, when Jedi was about 14 years old.

According to the Daily Telegraph, they were disclosed by an anonymous Twitter user via a newly created account.

Posts full of spelling and grammatical errors contain distasteful comments.

In one post, Jedi admits he laughed when he saw 12th graders answer questions and rate a teacher.

In response to the controversy, Jed told the Daily Telegraph that old posts no longer reflect who he is today as a 25-year-old.

“These posts are over 10 years old and I don’t remember making them,” he said.

“As children we say things we don’t understand about the harshness of the language used, but I can firmly say that as an adult I don’t agree with the use of language and the humor of the posts,” continued Jed.

“I have a lot of respect for women, I am a strong advocate for victims of assault and I never want to harm or hurt anyone.

Daily Mail Australia reached out to Channel 10 for comment.

The Jedi drummer will co-direct the tenth season of The Bachelor with professional basketball player Felix von Hoffe and coach Thomas Malucelli.

Undergraduate Australia has been criticized in the past for its lack of diversity, even having its first black student with Blake Garvey in its second season in 2014.

Last year, the franchise tried to solve its diversity problem in the previous season of the ninth season of Fijian pilot Jimmy Nicholson, while young indigenous worker Brooke Blurton was on The Bachelorette a few months later.

Brooke’s season also made history as it was the first “queer” part of the franchise where both men and women fought for her.
