Moldova, in cooperation with EU member states, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner (UNHCR) for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration, organizes free air transportation for migrants to 7 EU countries. This is reported on the UNHCR Moldova platform. Recently, Ukrainians were also pleased with free tickets to Canada.
Requirements
Initiative relevant for migrants who have relatives in one of the countries of Europe or have special needs. They need to register with the UNHCR agency for compliance checks by specialists.
Ukrainians who will receive a free ticket belong to one of the categories: people with disabilities, severe health conditions, or the elderly; single father or mother with three or more children, pregnant women.
List of flights
Flights from Moldova will run to:
- Austria.
- Germany.
- Italy.
- Spain.
- France.
- Netherlands.
- Norway.
The list is scheduled to be updated.
Additional requirements
IDPs will be able to use the free air ticket, who left Ukraine after February 24, 2022. Ukrainians need to present a biometric or internal passport of Ukraine, a child’s birth certificate (if they are flying with a child) and an asylum document received upon entry into Moldova.
