On June 28, Ukraine celebrates a public holiday – Constitution Day. Today marks 26 years since the adoption of the Basic Law, the preparation of which lasted almost 6 years and began even before the proclamation of the Independence of Ukraine immediately after the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the Declaration on State Sovereignty (July 16, 1990 – ed.). And so every time: if there were not enough votes, the head of parliament urged to vote again.
3. “Є Constitution!” – with these words Oleksandr Moroz, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met the birth of the Basic Law, after its adoption by 315 votes.

5. Constitution of Ukraine in the history of existence “corrected” seven times: in 2004, 2010, 2014, 2015 and twice in 2019. The latest changes were about parliamentary immunity and the recognition of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine as strategic directions for the development of the state.
