During the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the issue of language became more acute. Disputes constantly arise on the Web about the transition of Russian-speaking Ukrainians to Ukrainian. Ramina Eshakzai raised this issue earlier. The presenter urged not to divide Ukrainians into Ukrainian-speaking and Russian-speaking. The other day, Masha Efrosinina also touched on the topic of language. However, this provoked a real scandal.

What did Masha Yefrosinina say about Ukrainian?

In the new issue of Adult Girls, Masha Efrosinina and Olya Polyakova explained to the audience that can’t record a project in Ukrainian yetbecause they spoke Russian all their lives. Therefore, it is easier for them to tell stories, formulate and share opinions in this language.

You are used to us, who do not pick up words, gush. We have our own chemistry– said Masha.

Efrosinina added that she and Olya speak Ukrainian. But, unfortunately, it is not so good to express your thoughts beautifully and quickly.

Olya sings Ukrainian songs, I translated my Instagram when I can correct mistakes, reflect on the text. Where we are carried away by emotions, where we quickly have to express our thoughts, where something triggering and burning happens, I, for example, do not succeed. It’s impossible to joke, and we don’t have this chemistry,” Masha explained.

Efrosinina said that they raised this issue because they understand aggression and realize why there is so much of it in relation to the Russian language in their show.

The favorites of the public promised that in “Adult Girls” they would try to answer Ukrainian-language questions from the audience in Ukrainian.

Video message from Emma Antonyuk

The Ukrainian journalist and blogger was outraged by the public rhetoric of the TV presenter about the Ukrainian language. Antonyuk decided to explain to Efrosinina why language is important.

On the YouTube channel, Emma said that for many years Russia has been de-Ukrainizing, distributing its own content on the territory of our country.

Dear Masha, we did not have the full diversity of the Ukrainian cultural product, not because something was wrong with the Ukrainian language. But because next to us is a huge empire that pumped money into the expansion of the Russian product in the territories of the former colonies. We will not be able to develop Ukrainian show business or cinema while Russian propaganda says that everything Ukrainian is stupid and stupid. And self-serving idiots in Ukraine pick up and broadcast this idea,” Emma said.

According to Antonyuk, Ukraine is the only place on the world map where Ukrainians can claim education, services or content in Ukrainian.

Speaking Ukrainian is not an impossible mission. Once the Russian-speaking TV presenter Yanina Sokolova from the Zaporozhye region or the famous chef Yevgeny Klopotenko switched to Ukrainian out of respect for their viewers, the blogger explained.

According to Antonyuk, the Ukrainian language in Ukraine is understood even by those who do not communicate with it daily. Emma also explained that Ukrainians in eastern Ukraine became Russian-speaking because “they lived under the yoke of a cruel empire that destroyed the Ukrainian intelligentsia and banned the Ukrainian language.”

Stop scandalizing and insulting Ukrainians who need the Ukrainian language. We demand Ukrainian products and services not out of capriciousness. We have experienced a shortage of our own language in our country for decades. For hundreds of years, “fraternal Russia” has been destroying the Ukrainian language. She did not succeed, because for many generations before us the question of language was in time. They kept it at the expense of their own freedom, and sometimes life, – the journalist emphasized.

Antonyuk noted that there is not a single law that would indicate in which language a person should love or sing lullabies. But, according to her, when Putin tries to de-Ukrainize us, then in the public space, it is simply necessary to abandon Russification.

You are a well-known Ukrainian TV presenter who has been creating content in Ukraine for decades. The next time you ignore my language needs again, don’t be surprised that people like me are outraged. Does language separate? Yes. If he is Russian during the Russian attack, he is also colored by Russian manipulations,” the blogger added.

Earlier we reported that Natalia Mogilevskaya believes that Ukraine needs three state languages.
