Single of the year in Germany is the summer hit “Layla” by DJ Robin & Schürze, which has been criticized as sexist, the album of the year 2022 is “Zeit” by the band Rammstein. GfK Entertainment, the investigator of the Official German Charts, published the annual charts in Baden-Baden on Friday afternoon.
“Hit of the Year, Platinum: If someone had told us that at the beginning of the year, we both would have shaken our heads. The year was definitely mega-grand,” said party pop singer Schürze of the German Press Agency.
GfK Entertainment quoted the DJ Robin & Schürze duo as saying: “We’re both still afraid that someone will wake us up and say it was all just a dream.
An incredible year is coming to an end for us, and we humbly bow to all the party hit maniacs who, together with our unbeatable team, have made “Layla” the undisputed number one in the official German single charts.”

After three years, the most successful album of the year in Germany comes from Rammstein again.
Rammstein prevented Helene Fischer from delivering the album of the year for the sixth time. The 38-year-old finished second for the second time in a row. In 2021, the band Abba surpassed the singer with their comeback album “Voyage” and relegated the Fischer work “Rausch”, which was released in October 2021, to second place. Abba came third in 2022.
In 2020 the “Album of the Year” was by the old rockers from AC/DC (“Power Up”), in 2019 by the German brutal rockers Rammstein (“Rammstein”), in 2018 and 2017 by Helene Fischer (both times the album “Helene Fischer”). (dpa)
