(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 29 – “I wanted to tell Naples in its reluctance, the more crooked, less shameless, more melancholic Naples”. So today Roberto Andò talking about his IL BAMBINO NASCOSTO, a film already out of competition at the Venice Film Festival with an extraordinary Silvio Orlando and now in cinemas from 3 November with 01.
Based on the novel of the same name by the same director, the film takes us to an old Neapolitan palace where Gabriele Santoro (Orlando) has lived for many years, a solitary piano teacher at the Naples conservatory, very habitual and with some secrets. One day, the neighbors’ teenage son, Ciro (Giuseppe Pirozzi), runs away from home and takes refuge in the apartment of the music teacher. Frightened by the fate of the child, who risks becoming a victim of the local crime, Gabriele decides to protect him and does so by putting his own life at risk.
“I understand exactly how hard it is to stay in the world of my character – says Silvio Orlando to ANSA – especially now that he has gone on over the years, Santoro has created an armor. A bit like it happened to me except, of course, in rare cases like with my wife “. (HANDLE).
