In Orvieto Umbria Jazz Winter in the name of normality

(ANSA) – ORVIETO, OCTOBER 29 – Umbria Jazz restarts from Orvieto, where from December 29th to January 2nd it is ready to return to “normality” thanks to the 28th Winter edition, the first of the regional kermesse to resume the usual formula from beginning of the pandemic.

Fifty events on the bill in five days of festival, 17 bands, mainly residents, and a total of over 80 musicians on stage who will be divided between the Mancinelli theater and the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, between the Emilio Greco museum and the palazzo dei Seven. Also planned are the Jazz Lunches and Jazz Dinners and two end-of-year dinners to the rhythm of jazz, and there will also be the street parade of the marching band – Funk Off, as per tradition.

“We finally start again with a program and with the usual public that has always rewarded this city with this festival, which has now become a tradition” said, during the presentation of the event, the artistic director of the event, Carlo Pagnotta.

On the bill stands out the new project by guitarist Bill Frisell, one of the most innovative artists on the contemporary scene, with the Umbria Jazz Orchestra and with the direction of a luminary of orchestration, in particular of the great groups, Michael Gibbs. The project is an exclusive production of Umbria Jazz. (HANDLE).
