Tango Macondo, theatrical work with music by Paolo Fresu

(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 29 – “Tango Macondo” is the title of the new theatrical work produced by the Teatro Stabile of Bolzano, directed by Giorgio Gallione and freely inspired by the book “The Seller of Metaphors” by Salvatore Niffoi. The music is composed by Paolo Fresu and his travel companions, for a journey between words and sounds, tango and popular music, writing and oral tradition.

This unprecedented soundtrack is out for Tǔk Music digitally (and coinciding with the show’s debut, and from November 26th on cd and double transparent red vinyl 140gr).

The album contains original compositions, and some small gems: the exciting reinterpretations of tango classics with three exceptional voices: Malika Ayane, Tosca and Elisa, who respectively sing “Alguien le dice al Tango”, “El día que me quieras “and” Volver “, and who enthusiastically immersed themselves in the magical and evocative atmosphere of” Tango Macondo “.

The soundtrack builds an ideal bridge between Mamoiada, the town of Barbagia famous for the legendary Carnival with its diabolical and grotesque masks, and Macondo, the imaginary place born from the dreamlike and mythical universe of Gabriel García Márquez.

To capture this spirit between archaic rites and dreamlike contemporaneity, Fresu called with him two perfect travel companions such as Daniele di Bonaventura at the bandoneon and Pierpaolo Vacca at the accordion, eclectic and transversal musicians who play their bellows immersed in love for tradition and research. Marcello Chiarenza is instead the author of the works that adorn the booklet.

These are the dates of the show: Bolzano (Teatro Stabile 28 – 31 October); Milan (Teatro Carcano, November 2-7); Monfalcone (Municipal Theater, 9 and 10 November); Rovereto (Zandonai Theater, 4 December); Rome, (Teatro Quirino 7-12 December). (HANDLE).
